About St Vincent & The Grenadines

St Vincents 389 km2 territory consists of the main island of St Vincent and the northern two-thirds of the Grenadines which are a chain of smaller islands stretching south from St Vincent Island to Grenada. To the north of St Vincent is St Lucia, and to the east is Barbados . St Vincent and the Grenadines is a densely populated country with approximately 120,000 inhabitants. The currency of St Vincent is Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC). The fixed exchange rate between USD and EC is; $1 USD = 2.67 EC.


There are 32 islands and cays that make up St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). Nine are inhabited; including the mainland of St. Vincent, Young Island, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Union Island, Mayreau, Petit St Vincent and Palm Island. The stunning Tobago Cays National Marine Park is also located within SVG. This cluster of islands offers a combination of rainforest hiking, scuba diving and outstanding white sandy beaches. These islands are similar to the Virgins in the way that they are all grouped together. The average sailing time between the islands would only be about an hour, so lots of time to explore the crystal clear waters.
